A Classical Pilates Studio in Historic Downtown Milwaukie

Intelligent Movement for Invigorated Living

Our mission is to be a haven for learning and practicing the classical Pilates method. We strive to empower people with all types of bodies to attain their own unique version of optimal health.

Classical Pilates - intelligent movement designed to condition and enliven your whole body and mind

Pilates is a system of low-impact exercises performed on specialized equipment and the mat. It’s customizable. It’s challenging. It’s effective. It’s fun!

When practiced with persistence and patience, Pilates will transform your body and how you feel in it. We believe the widespread practice of Pilates can help uplift humanity, because those who do it attain benefits that enable them to be their best selves. We stay true to the classical method - as created and taught by Joseph Pilates, who envisioned the world at large benefiting from his life’s work.

Pilates was designed for everyone

Most of us would like to feel better in our bodies. Pilates can be a key part of the path to optimal health. Any body can do Pilates and we are dedicated to sharing this invigorating practice with you.

Semi-private lessons are an affordable option for you to receive focused attention while practicing with a friend or family member. (Please note, each client must book an appointment.)

Our group equipment classes are a fun option for you to practice in a small group setting. You will still receive individualized attention, just with more of a collective vibe.  For group classes, we use the Reformer, Tower (for Cadillac work) and Low Chair.

Frequently Asked
Questions

How do I get started?

Private lessons are a great way to begin, so that we can discuss your individual goals in detail. This is the safest choice if you have any injuries or physical conditions that require special attention. We offer an intro package of 3 private lessons for $200. For those who only want to take group classes, we are skilled at addressing each individual’s needs in a small group setting. If you’re not sure, please email or call us and we will help you choose the best direction for your unique Pilates path. When you’re ready, follow the links to our online scheduling software - Mindbody. You will need to create an account and complete our client information form so that we can learn about you before your first visit.

How often should I practice?

2-3x a week is a great goal for most people, even beginners. The more consistent your practice, the more transformative the work will be for you. Pilates can be practiced safely on a daily basis and tremendous results will be enjoyed by those who do so.

What should I wear?

The best attire to wear to a lesson or class is anything stretchy that allows you to move with ease. We just ask that you please not wear anything with exposed zippers since it can tear the equipment. Shorts are fine, but they should be form-fitting for best coverage.  Pilates is done with bare feet, or you may wear grippy socks if you choose. We would prefer that you don’t wear smartwatches during your lesson.

Can I come to group class if I've never done Pilates before?

We would prefer that you do a private lesson before attending a group class. But, if you don’t have any injuries then, yes, you can join one of the group classes. Most of our classes are open-level and will be customized to the working level of the group.

Do you take drop-ins?

No. All of our lessons and classes are by appointment only, so that we can plan a safe and appropriate practice for each of our clients.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please provide at least 24 hours notice of cancellation to avoid being charged for your lesson or class. Late cancellations (less than 24 hours) will result in your account being charged. Of course, if you become ill or learn that you've been exposed to Covid-19 after the 24 hour window has closed, please let us know as soon as possible and we will not charge your account.

What are your rates?

Rates vary based on type of class and how many are purchased at a time. You can view all of our packages and rates here.
